Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue in conjunction with the United States Forest Service conducted prescribed burns in the South jetty area on the morning of September 12, 2014. These burns are a fantastic opportunity to remove hazardous vegetation and provide our firefighters with the opportunity to observe fire behavior and participate in suppression operations in a controlled setting. This is another example of the dedication that our volunteers and firefighters have to this community.
