Several SVFR Chief Officers and Captains have completed the Blue Card Incident Commander Certification process. This training consists of nearly 60 hours of intense training designed to prepare fire officers to be effective incident commanders at complex structure fires. Blue Card Incident Commander Certification is the first of its kind and is considered cutting edge training. Several large metro fire departments including Salem FD, Eugene / Springfield FD, San Jose FD, Phoenix FD, and El Paso FD have adopted this program to ensure their incident commanders are ready to lead their troops into battle during complicated emergencies. SVFR is very proud of our officers for putting the time and effort into obtaining this certification. SVFR is also proud to announce that we are the first FD on the coast and one of few in the state to obtain this certification for our incident commanders!
